Secretary to CM (5T) V. Karthikeyan Pandian interacted with the Hockey Olympians from Odisha Deep Grace Ekka, Namita Toppo, Birendra Lakra and Amit Rohidas and congratulated them on their outstanding performance at the Tokyo Olympics.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik felicitated the players from Odisha in the Indian Hockey team at a function in Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar today.

She told ANI in a statement: “I didn’t get any facilities. I don’t understand why. I was selected by UNICEF. My dreams have been shattered.”

India has a total of ten gold medals from the Olympics. Eight of them are from the men's hockey team. Neeraj Chopra is the second individual Gold medallist after Abhinav Bindra.

India had a strong performance at the Tokyo Olympics, winning one Gold, two Silver, and four Bronze medals. 

His wish was fulfilled when Neeraj Chopra won the Javelin Gold yesterday, but Milkha was not there to witness that glory.

Then Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju had announced that Indian Olympians would go unbranded in Tokyo Olympics and only 'INDIA' will be written on the apparel.

With a distance of 87.58 metres, his second throw bettered his first and it was his best throw today.

India wrestler Bajrang Punia won Bronze medal in men's freestyle 65kg wrestling event by defeating Kazakhstan's Daulet Niyazbekov (8-0) at Tokyo Olympics.

It was a heartbreaking place for the World No. 200, who had concluded the previous three rounds in second place at Tokyo.
