Severe Cyclonic Storm ‘Asani’ formed over the westcentral Bay of Bengal, has weakened into a Cyclonic Storm this morning.

Squally wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph predicted off the Odisha Coast on 11th and 12th May, 2022.

The maximum wind speed of 105-115 km/hour, gusting to 125 km/hour may be recorded during the Severe Cyclonic Storm.

There won't be any impact of the Cyclonic Storm in Odisha, as per the Indian Met Department. Odisha may not witness rainfall or heavy winds too, said the Met Department.

The Cyclonic Storm known as 'Jawad' (pronounced as JOWAD) will weaken further into a deep depression when it reaches the Puri Coast tomorrow noon.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued fresh updates on Cyclone Jawad. A Cyclonic Storm has been predicted within the next 12 hours.

The low pressure area is likely to intensify in to a depression in the next 24 hours and move northwestward over central parts of BoB.
