The Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar has informed that a low-pressure area to form over Bay of Bengal during the next 24 hours.

The deep depression in the Bay of Bengal intensified into a Cyclonic storm on Friday afternoon, according to the Indian Meteorological Department.

According to the Bhubaneswar Regional Meteorological Department, the low pressure area is likely to become more marked and move west-north-westwards during subsequent 48 hours.

There will be no respite from the incessant rain for next two weeks in Odisha as two back to back cyclonic circulations are likely to form over the Bay of Bengal.

During the Cyclonic Storm, wind speed may be around 70-80 kmph gusting to 90 kmph. 7 districts in Odisha may witness very heavy rainfall.

As the Bay of Bengal is set to experience a series of cyclonic circulations, Odisha will receive heavy rains across the State till September 30.
