The threat of a third Coronavirus wave in the country on the back of the new Omicron variant of the virus appears to be increasing as the  tally of the Omicron variant across states reached 416 in the last 24 hours.

The number of Omicron cases in India has gone up to 153 with detection of 6 more cases in Maharashtra which now leads the pack with 54 cases.

9 Omicron cases reported from Jaipur, Rajasthan. Maharashtra too reported 7 more cases.

Delhi reported its first case of Omicron Covid Variant while India recorded 5th case. Karnataka (2), Gujarat (1), Maharashtra (1), Delhi (1).

A 33-year-old "unvaccinated" youth in Mumbai became the 4th case of Omicron Covid Variant in India. He had returned from South Africa.
