After the devastating flood in Mahanadi system, a fresh flood threat has now cropped up in the Subarnarekha river system.

The incessant rains in Odisha under the influence of back-to-back low pressures in the Bay of Bengal have resulted the swelling of major rivers across Odisha.

The flood situation remains grim in many parts of the state with flow of Mahanadi is at its peak at Mundali in Cuttack. The peak flow will continue for another 8 to 9 hours till 3 AM. Flood water will then move to Sea by 6 PM to 9 PM…

With back-to-back low pressure systems in Bay of Bengal triggering rain havoc, the flood situation is turning grim in several areas in Odisha due to the rising water levels in the Mahanadi river basin.

A ‘floating restaurant’ has been inaugurated at the premises of Silver City Boat Club in Cuttack.
