Congress Interim President Sonia Gandhi asked 5 PCC Presidents to resign after the poll debacle, giving them a respectable exit.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is sweeping the polls with a lead in 88 out of 117 seats in the state. Congress is way behind with just 15 seats. If this trend continues, BJP may win 250-260 out of 403 seats in Uttar Pradesh.

Sulochana Das seems to have the support of all party leaders & Karyakartas as well as the public.

The Congress Party, which is fighting a survival battle and now threatens to replace the BJP as the No. 2 party in the ongoing Panchayat Polls, is at the 3rd spot with 30 seats. Interestingly, 25 out of these 30 seats are from South Odisha.

While counting was held across 315 Zilla Parishad zones of Odisha on Day 1 yesterday, results were declared for 256 zones so far.

As per the State Election Commission, BJD is leading in 270 seats, BJP is leading in 24, Congress is leading in 15 and others in 06 seats.

Balwinder Singh Laddi, MLA from Shri Hargovindpur in Punjab, again the talk of the political town as he rejoined BJP. 

The BJP has topped the list of the richest party after declaring assets worth Rs 4,847 crore for the 2019-20 financial year.
