Shinde assures Strong Action to be taken against Rapists
Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde made a shocking statement today while the entire nation is outraged over the brutal rape of a five-year-old Delhi girl. He said that the crimes against women were not Delhi-centric, but happened all over India.
Such statement was not expected from the Union Home Minister when protesters are blaming the police department for inaction and the lawmakers, who can only express their grief and shock only after a gruesome incident happens anywhere.
In an attempt to defuse the tension over the recent Delhi child rape case, he told both the Houses giving details of the rape of a five-year-old girl that the swift action had been taken in the case and the reports of the police offering bribe to the victim’s family would be probed.
However, he dragged everyone’s attention in the Parliament by making such statement. He said that two accused in the case have been arrested from Bihar and prompt action had been taken against the officers for neglecting their duty. He said that the Station House Officer (SHO) of the concerned police station in Gandhi Nagar and the Investigating Officer (IO) have been placed under suspension.
