One of the woman protesters said that it is my right to dent and paint. It is up to the women, how they will carry themselves and take make ups. The remarks are completely shocking and that too it was said by President’s son, who is also a member of parliament. Such insensitive remarks towards women could not be tolerated.

However, Abhijit Mukherjee unconditionally apologiseed for his remarks, saying his comments were not meant to hurt anyone.

Meanwhile, the demonstrations were found at India Gate, Jantar Mantar and Nizamuddin area in South Delhi. The protesters have been demanding safety for women in the national capital and faster and effective legal process for the rape or sexual assault cases. However, police did not allow them to gather near India Gate, to avoid further violence.

The protesters, mostly young students and women, said that their march is peaceful. They questioned why they are not allowed for the protests at India Gate as it is a democratic country and they are the citizens of India.
