Ajay Maken resigns from Union Cabinet
Union Minister for Housing and Poverty Alleviation Ajay Maken has resigned from the Union Cabinet in order to serve in the organisation. Maken, who is considered as a strong and capable man to do better jobs, was in charge of Sports portfolio prior to assuming the charge of Housing and Poverty Alleviation.
Maken, who was very much active in Delhi politics before being moved to the Centre. It is speculated that he can go back to Delhi again and could be projected as the Chief Ministerial candidate, as Congress is in a bad shape under Sheila Dikshit, who may be moved to the Centre.
Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh is all set to go for a Cabinet reshuffle next week. Some more Ministers could resign to work in the organisation, while some new faces will be inducted to fill up the big vaccum that was created after the departure of TMC and DMK from the UPA.
