The protests over the brutal rape of a five-year-old girl intensified in the national capital with the closure of three metro stations on Monday. The protesters are demanding the death sentence for the rapists.
Three Metro stations, Race Course Road, Central Secretariat and Udyog Bhavan, close to Parliament, India Gate and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s residence, were closed at around 10.15 am to avoid disturbance as the Budget session restarted today. However, the interchange facility will be available at Central Secretariat station. The security has been tightened near Parliament, and India Gate.

The protesters gathered at Delhi Police Headquarters and demanded removal of police commissioner Neeraj Kumar. The demand for death sentence for the rapists grew and they demanded to shame the rapists publicly.
Meanwhile, the second accused in the crime has been arrested from Bihar. He will be brought to Delhi soon. Amidst chaos in the national capital, there is good news, as the little child is out of danger. Her condition is stable and responding to the treatment, said the doctors attending to her at AIIMS.
Shame on the Government, which could not check such heinous crimes. And adding to that you are shutting down the metros, to restrain people to protest?
