Want to Hear Modi? Pay Rs 5 for Uttarakhand Victims
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has decided to charge Rs 5 as entry fee for Gujarat CM Narendra Modi’s public rally in Hyderabad, which will be held on August 11. The funds collected, will be donated for the relief work of flood-affected people in Uttarakhand.
The BJP argued that while other political parties pay money to bring the people to public rallies, people would pay to hear a person of Modi’s stature. And, since the money will be donated for Uttarakhand victims, Congress and others should not try to politicise the issue.
The rally will be held at the Lal Bahadur Stadium in Hyderabad on August 11. While the venue has a capacity of 30,000, the BJP expects the turnout to be at one lakh. Around 40,000 people have already booked their tickets for the rally, which will have youth in the age group of 18-40.
