Mirabai Chanu

Weightlifter Mirabai Chanu won the GOLD in Women's 49kg category at the Commonwealth Games with a total lift of 201 kg.

India has a total of ten gold medals from the Olympics. Eight of them are from the men's hockey team. Neeraj Chopra is the second individual Gold medallist after Abhinav Bindra.

India had a strong performance at the Tokyo Olympics, winning one Gold, two Silver, and four Bronze medals. 

This year at the Tokyo Olympics 2020, Indian women have been causing a stir on the world's largest and grandest stage of sport.

Mirabai Chanu was greeted with chants of "Bharat Mata ki Jai" and other patriotic slogans when she arrived Delhi airport.

Indian weightlifter Mirabai Chanu won India's first medal at the Tokyo Olympics after clinching Silver in the women's 49 kg event on Saturday.
