Covid Third Wave

Odisha reported 28 more Omicron cases today, taking the tally to 103, as informed by the Institute of Life Science (ILS) in Bhubaneswar.

India is in the midst of a Covid third wave, officials have said, as the spread of Omicron has led to a doubling of cases in recent days and curfews being imposed on cities across the country. 

The threat of a third Coronavirus wave in the country on the back of the new Omicron variant of the virus appears to be increasing as the  tally of the Omicron variant across states reached 416 in the last 24 hours.

According to a study done by IIT experts, the third wave of coronavirus is expected to reach India in August, with daily infections ranging from one lakh to 1.5 lakh.

As per a study, third waves have developed in other nations, such as the United Kingdom and the United States, and are fueled by a variety of reasons.

The Telangana State Cabinet, which met on Saturday, agreed to remove the current Coronavirus-induced lockdown fully beginning at 6 a.m. on Sunday, in a major development.
