Rajnath Singh sells ‘Brand Modi’ in USA
After creating the ‘Modi Hype’ in India, BJP President Rajnath Singh has tried to sell ‘Brand Modi’ in the United States, the country, which has put a blanket ban on the Gujarat CM’s visit after 2002 Gujarat riots, citing serious violation of human rights.
Most countries in the world, including the European Union (EU) has shown interest to deal with Modi because of large business opportunities in Gujarat. However, the US has not changed its stand it. “The United States will have to grant visa to Narendra Modi sooner than later, as he is the tallest national leader in India,” said Rajnath Singh. He also held talks with many US Lawmakers and NRI businessmen to press for lifting of ban on Modi, who is all set to become the BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate in 2014.
Narendra Modi is a crowd-puller not only in Gujarat but also in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar — from north to south, east to west. He is one single leader with a national appeal. His popularity will help the party in the elections,” said Rajnath Singh in the US.
The situation has drastically changed after Narendra Modi’s elevation as the BJP’s Election Campaign Committee Chairman. Modi keeps addressing audiences in the US through video-conferencing. But, he has not applied for visa, as the US has already put a ban on him.
