Narendra Modi rules himself out of PM’s Race
In a significant development, Gujarat CM Narendra Modi ruled himself out of the Prime Minister’s race, saying he wants to serve Gujarat till 2017, as he has received the mandate for that. Modi also said that he never had such dream to become the PM.
Modi’s statement came while replying to the question of a student at a gathering to felicitate best teachers of the state on the occasion of Teacher’s Day. “Those who dream of becoming something destroy themselves in the end. One should not dream of becoming something, rather one should dream of doing something,” he said.
“I never see such dreams. I am not going to see such dreams. People of Gujarat have given me a mandate to serve them till 2017 and I have to do this with my full strength,” he added further.
The latest development came in the wake of reports that a section within the BJP, was behind the explosive letter written by suspended IPS officer DG Vanzara, who tried to sabotage Modi’s Delhi March. It is believed that Modi is frustrated not with the attacks launched by the Congress and other parties, but by his own party leaders who do not wish to see him as the PM.
