IPL Scandal Explodes, Rajeev Shukla Resigns
The IPL scandal exploded further, as Union Minister and BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla resigned as the IPL Chairman to put further pressure on defiant BCCI President N Srinivasan, who has been under pressure to step down following his son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan’s arrest in spot-fixing controversy.
Earlier, BCCI Secretary Sanjay Jagdale and Treasurer Ajay Shirke had resigned from their posts as part of the strategy to seek Srinivasan’s head. However, the BCCI President put four conditions, including a post in the ICC and blocking of Shashank Manohar’s entry as the Working President of the BCCI.
The BCCI Working Committee meeting been called at 2:30 PM tomorrow to discuss further strategies related to the latest developments. Srinivasan has been cornered and may be forced to step down or even get ousted if he continues to show defiance and stubbornness.
