IPL 6: RCB beat KKR; Pune beat Rajasthan
The match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders witnessed an ugly incident involving captains Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir. After Virat got out, he passed some comments, which infuriated Gambhir and he was chasing towards his junior, but Rajat Bhatia with the help of others, separated them. That brought the gentleman’s game into disrepute.
Chris Gayle scored an unbeaten 85, as RCB scored an emphatic 8-wicket victory over the KKR. KKR made 154.8 in 20 overs. Gambhir was the top scorer with 59, while Yusuf Pathan (27) and Manoj Tiwary (23) were the other contributors. RP Singh took three wickets, while Henriques and Vinay Kumar took two wickets each. RCB reached 158/2 in 17.3 overs. Gayle made 85* off 50 balls with 4 boundaries and 9 sixes. Kohli scored 35. AB de Villiers remained not out on 22. Gayle was declared ‘Man of the Match’.
In another match, Pune Warriors India recorded their first win in IPL 6, as they defeated Rajasthan Royals by 7 wickets. RR scored 145/5 in 20 overs. Rahane (30), Dravid (54) and Brad Hodge (22*) were the top scorers. Rahul Sharma and Yuvraj Singh took two wickets each. Pune reached 148/3 in 18.4 overs. Aaron Finch was the top scorer with 64, while Uthappa made 32. Yuvraj Singh remained unbeaten on 28. Aaron Finch was declared ‘Man of the Match’.
