India beat New Zealand, enter Final in U-19 WC
TNI Bureau: India beat New Zealand by nine runs on Thursday in the ICC Under-19 World Cup semi-final to enter the final. The opponent started well, but failed reach the target.
Indian bowlers restricted New Zealand to 200/9 in their 50 overs to claim the victory. The team will face Australia on Sunday in the final.
Young Tamil Nadu player Aparajith was declared the man of the match for his all round performance. He scored 44 and took the important wicket Robert O’Donell.
While New Zealand lost the first four wickets for 63 runs, Cam Fletcher-O’Donell duo collected 56 runs. However, O’Donnell was dismissed by Aparajith.
Earlier, India lost eight wickets for 77 runs to end up on 209 for 9. While Unmukt scored 31 off 44 balls, Prashant Chopra and Aparajith made a partnership of 81.
