Baba Ramdev gets Clean Chit by UK Immigration
After eight-hour-long questioning on Friday followed by another round of interrogation on Saturday, yoga guru Baba Ramdev finally got a clean chit from the immigration officials in the UK. He can now carry on with his programmes in Britain.
Although the Indian High Commission or Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) did not offer any support to Ramdev, it was British Indian MP Keith Vaz, Britain’s NRI Community and supporters of the yoga guru in London, who made things possible with relentless efforts.
BJP President Rajnath Singh and PM nominee Narendra Modi reportedly worked hard to ensure Baba Ramdev’s hassle-free stay in the UK. Ramdev has alleged that the Indian Government was behind his ordeal. They may have “misguided” the British officials to go after me, he said.
Baba Ramdev is in the UK to conduct a series of yoga shivirs and talks organised by the Patanjali Yog Peeth (UK) Trust. No clear pictures have emerged on the reasons behind his detention at Heathrow Airport.
