BSE Sensex climbed 296.45 points to 57,817.51 in early trade on Friday while NSE Nifty jumped 99.3 points to 17,344.35.

The BSE Sensex closed at 57,521.06, up 701.67 points or 1.23 per cent while the Nifty 50 closed at 17,245.05, up 206.65 points or 1.21 per cent.

The 30-share BSE benchmark was trading 227 points higher at 57,046 in early trade, while the NSE Nifty jumped 73 points to 17,111 points.

The Sensex slipped 537.22 points, or 0.94%, to close at 56,819.39, while Nifty50 lost 162.40 points to end at 17,038.40.
