TNI Bureau: Anna Hazare’s supporters, who had been sitting with the veteran social activist in protest against corruption for past 10 days at Jantar Mantar, are now protesting Team Anna’s decision to form a political party.
Some supporters burnt the posters of Anna and India Against Corruption at Navsari in Surat protesting the Team’s decision. Some volunteers were absent at the fast venue Jantar Mantar on Friday and some returned their identity cards after the Team announced that they have decided to join politics.
Even though, Anna said that he will stay out of the party, but his supporters want a revolution, not a political party.
Santosh Hegde, Team Anna’s member on Friday had expressed his displeasure over the decision. He said that he does not support Anna and his Team starting a political party.
Anna made it clear that he will not join party politics. But, he will campaign for the candidates, who will join his movement against corruption and bring political change in the country.

Some of the supporters strongly reacted after Team Anna announced its entry into politics while ending the fast on Friday evening.
Addressing the scores of Anna Hazare supporters at the fast venue yesterday, Arvind Kejriwal, a key member of Team Anna, who was on fast along with Gopal Rai and Manish Sisodia since over a week against corruption, announced that the Team is considering to form a political party to fight against corruption in the country.
He said that this is the time to topple the government. “Now the fight will be on the streets and inside the Parliament. This is the time for total revolution. We have not accepted the defeat at the hand of the government. The first phase of agitation was over and the next phase begins”, he said.
He said that people will decide the name of the political party, which will have no high command.
Even Former Army Chief General VK Singh supported their decision to provide a political option to the people.
