Akhilesh, Gadkari meet Martyr Hemraj’s Family
TNI Bureau: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav met the family members of Lance Naik Hemraj Singh, who was brutally killed at LoC by the Pakistani troops on January 8 to condole the death of the martyr. The family is on a hunger strike demanding the head of the soldier to be returned to them.
Even President Nitin Gadkari also visited the martyr’s family in Shernagar, UP, along with senior party leaders Sushma Swaraj and Rajnath Singh. Gadkari said that the government should take strong action and put pressure on Pakistan to stop the act. He said that India should take the issue with the United Nations, and the international community. He said that the party will raise the issue in the parliament.
Meanwhile, the commanders from India and Pakistan today met in a flag meeting at Chakan-da-Bagh in Poonch district at 1 pm. The Brigadier-level flag meet might have ended with positive note. However, nothing is clear. Prior to the meeting, India’s Army Chief Bikram Singh had talked tough against Pakistan over the killing of two Indian soldiers.
He expected that Indian army to be very aggressive if Pakistan continues to violate the ceasefire. He sent out a tough message today saying, India will retaliate if Pakistan attacks.
