India beat Sri Lanka, take 2-0 lead in Series
Team India crushed Sri Lanka by 6 wickets in the second ODI at Motera in Ahmedabad to take a 2-0 lead in the five-match series. Ambati Rayudu scored his maiden hundred and remained unbeaten till end. India had won the first ODI in Cuttack by 169 runs.
The Indian bowlers did well to restrict Sri Lanka at 274/8 in 50 overs. Angelo Mathews was the top scorer with 92. Sangakkara scored 61, while Dilshan (35) and Dhammika Prasad (30*) were the other top contributors. For India, Umesh Yadav, R Ashwin and Akshar Patel took two wickets each.
India lost Rahane early, but Dhawan and Rayudu set the tone of the game in India’s favour. India reached 275/4 in 44.3 overs and won the match by six wickets. Rayudu remained unbeaten on 121. Shikhar Dhawan made 79. Virat Kohli contributed 49. Prasanna took three wickets for Sri Lanka. Ambati Rayudu was declared ‘Man of the Match’.
