Vayalar Ravi in Trouble for Sexist Remarks
TNI Bureau: While protests are being staged in Kerala demanding probe against PJ Kurien in the Suryanelli gangrape case, Union Minister Vayalar Ravi landed in a fresh controversy for making sexist remarks against a female reporter.
Women journalists expressed outrage and staged protests demanding apology in public, even though Ravi has already apologised to the reporter. The BJP also took on Congress demanding strong action against the minister.
According to the reports, senior congress leader Ravi made sexist remarks at a female journalist, who was asking question over Kurien’s alleged role in the Suryanelli gangrape case.
Ravi was caught on camera while abusing the reporter at a meeting. He was seen asking the woman journalist whether she had a personal problem with Kurien. “Do you have anything personal against Kurien? I am sure you do. Has something happened between you and him in the past?” he asked the reporter.
