Zee News sends Rs 150 Crore Defamation Notice to Jindal
TNI Bureau: The battle between Congress MP and steel tycoon Naveen Jindal and Zee News has taken an ugly turn, as the latter has sent a Rs 150 crore defamation notice to the former, giving an ultimatum to withdraw the allegations against the news channel.
The Zee News accused Jindal and his company of trying to divert the attention from the allegations against them in the coalgate. Jindal had accused Zee News Editors of demanding Rs 100 crore from his company for not airing negative stories.
Jindal had shown the video tapes collected in a sting operation to substantiate his claims. However, Zee has decided not to give up and claimed that the Editors were only trying to expose Jindal and his company, JSPL.
The JSPL had already filed a Rs 200 crore defamation case against against Subhash Chandra, Puneet Goenka, Sudhir Chaudhary and Sameer Ahluwalia of Zee News and Zee Business.
