Vijender Singh gets Clean Chit in Dope Test
Boxer Vijender Singh got a huge relief, as his dope test results turned negative. However, the question still remains why the heroin test was not conducted on him despite the evidence that he took that substance more than once.
The dope test on Vijender was conducted by the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) after the boxer and his roommate Ram Singh came under the scanner for consuming recreational drugs, including heroin.
The Sports Ministry said that Vijender’s blood and urine samples came negative for banned substances, including that of psychotropic drugs. It is not possible to ascertain whether somebody has consumed heroin through the blood and urine test. Only the hair samples can confirm that, which Vijender has refused to give.
Since NADA does not have the facility to test hair samples in India, it need to take the help of outside agencies, which was not possible at this juncture. The case against Vijender will still continue, as he was accused of helping his NRI friend Anoop Singh Kahlon to carry out drug business. Kahlon was arrested in huge drug haul case. He carried the drugs in the car that was on Vijender’s wife’s name.
