Tyson Gay, Asafa Powell fail in Dope Test
In a shocking development, two best sprinters in the world, Asafa Powell (Jamaica) and Tyson Gay (USA) failed in the dope test and found positive for banned substances. Powell is the former world record holder in 100m race. Ironically, Tyson Gay was promoting himself as an anti-drug athlete.
Another Jamaican athlete Shreone Simpson, who had won a gold and two silver medals at the Olympics, was also found positive in drug tests. Asafa Powell held the world record in 100m with 9.74 secs till 2008 when Usain Bolt beat that.
Tyson Gay is the American record holder in the 100m. He had won the 100m and 200m races at the US Nationals last month. He recently took part in the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency’s “My Victory” program.
