Three Civilians killed in Shopian: Reports
According to the preliminary inquiry into the Shopian killings in Jammu and Kashmir, three of four people killed by the CRPF were civilians. However, the CRPF in its defence clarified that militants had tried to attack the camp.
The Kashmir Valley witnessed an outrage over the killings of civilians and the locals are now demanding a judicial probe into the case. The investigation is on. The police report said that there was no record of terrorism against three and the fourth one was not the resident of that area. He is suspected as Abdullah Haroon, a Lashkar terrorist.
However, the CRPF defended saying, six terrorists had tried to attack their camp. Four were killed, and one was injured in the crossfire. Following the incident, the tension erupted and locals claimed that four were killed in cold blood and there was no shootout.
