According to CNN report, Al-Shabaab, a Somalia-based militant Islamist group affiliated to al-Qaeda, has offered a bounty of 10 camels for Obama and two camels for information on Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

The move is the counter attack of the Islamist group after an audio statement posted on jihadist websites showed that the US has offered millions of dollars for the information on seven key members of al-Shabaab.

Fuad Mohamed Khalaf, who is considered to be Al-Shabaab’s leading fundraiser, claimed that the US has offered $5 million for information of his whereabouts.

He countered with an offer of camels for the US President and Secretary of State saying “whoever will bring information about the whereabouts of Obama and Bill Clinton’s wife Hillary, will be rewarded”.

However, the audio recording has not been independently verified by the CNN. It is believed that Khalaf has offered the reward for the information about Obama during a speech to followers in the southern port city of Merca.

Through the programme ‘Rewards for Justice’, the US has offered $7 million for information of whereabouts of Ahmed Abdi Aw-Mohamed, the founder of the Islamist group in Somalia.

The US State Department said it is also offering $5 million each for information leading to the whereabouts of four of Aw-Mohamed’s associates, including Khalaf. The US has also offered $3 million each for the leaders of two terror groups.
