Sanjay Dutt surrenders at TADA Court in Mumbai
After failing to get any further reprieve from the Supreme Court, Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt has finally surrendered before the special TADA Court in Mumbai this afternoon. He will serve the remaining 42 months of his jail term in connection with the illegal possession of arms case of 1993.
Sanjay Dutt was sentenced to five years in jail. As he has already served 18 months sentence so far, the actor will have to stay 36 months more in jail. He is likely to be shifted to Pune’s Yerwada Jail.
Many of Sanjay Dutt’s movies are yet to be completed. Dutt had sought more time to complete those, but failed to get long extensions from the court. He also sought to surrender directly inside the jail citing security reasons, but the court rejected his request.
