Raza Murad slams Modi in Shivraj’s Presence
Bollywood actor Raza Murad criticised Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and praised his Madhya Pradesh counterpart Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who showed his spirit of secularism by wearing a skull cap during Eid celebration in Bhopal.
Hailing Chouhan, Murad said that other CMs (indicating Narendra Modi) need to learn from Madhya Pradesh CM that wearing a skull cap does not affect one’s religion. “By participating in someone’s festivities, your religion would not be corrupted. Shivraj is no less popular than any other chief minister but he comes here and wishes us Eid Mubarak every year and wears the topi”, he said on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr today.
He took a jibe at Modi saying the Gujarat CM should learn something from Chouhan and wearing a topi did not show that his religion was affected.
The statement could remind us when Modi had refused to wear a skull cap during his three-day ‘Sadbhavana’ fast in Ahmedabad in 2011. He was offered a skull cap by Sayed Imam Shahi Saiyed, but Modi asked him to offer a shawl.
