BJP MP and eminent lawyer Ram Jethmalani, who has a habit of courting controversies, has made the statement that Lord Ram, who is known as “Maryada Purushottam” was a bad husband and he did not like him at all.
Jethmalani’s statement created a huge uproar acorss the country and among the Hindus staying abroad. Even the Congress Party and BJP leaders have criticised him. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has also taken strong exception to him. Meanwhile, Jethmalani has defended his remarks and said his aim was not to embarrass the party. He further added Lord Ram was not a historical figure, but just a mythological one.
