Police: JD(U) MLA’s Husband makes Extortion Calls from Jail
TNI Bureau: An FIR has been filed against JD(U) MLA’s husband in Bihar for allegedly making extortion calls from jail. The accused Vijay Kumar Shukla alias Munna Shukla, who is presently serving life imprisonment in a murder case, is the former MLA.
Shukla has been accused of demanding extortion of Rs 2 crore from an employee of a institute in the name of his party’s upcoming Adhikar rally. The calls had been allegedly made from the jail. The former JD(U) MLA is already in jail after being convicted in a murder case of former Bihar Minister Brij Bihari Prasad in 1998.
The FIR has been filed with Bhagwanpur police station in Vaishali district by the Director ((HR) of Patna Saheb College of Engineering, Sant Lal Yadav, alleging Shukla demanded Rs 2 crore from him for the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s rally, which will be held in Patna on November 4. He also alleged that he had received two extortion calls from two separate mobiles.
Shukla’s wife Annu Shukla, who is the JD(U) MLA from the Lalganj the assembly seat, refuted all the allegations as baseless and fabricated. With the latest case against the former MLA, the JD(U) landed in a trouble as the Opposition, alleged that Shukla was not alone in extorting money, but most JD(U) leaders and government officials have been raising funds for the upcoming rally.
