PM’s Dinner Diplomacy Fails, BJP refuses to Relent
They came, they dined, but they refused to go soft. BJP leaders LK Advani, Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley attended PM Dr. Manmohan Singh’s dinner last night, but did not keep his request for a smooth functioning of the Parliament. The BJP has refused to accept PM’s appeal, saying there was nothing new in PM’s offer.
The BJP took strong exception to the fact that its leaders LK Advani and Sushma Swaraj were not allowed to speak in Lok Sabha after the PM’s statement on missing coal files.
The BJP has raised the issues of missing coal files and fuel price hike in the Parliament today. The Rajya Sabha faced adjournment over the issue. The PM before leaving for Moscow to attend the G-20 Summit, had promised that the missing files would be traced in two weeks, failing which a probe would be ordered. That did not satisfy the opposition.
A leading English Daily has published a report today, saying a CBI officer wanted the PM to be under the probe ambit in the Coal scam, but that was rejected by his top brass and the government.
