Pakistan bans Salman Khan’s ‘Ek Tha Tiger’
TNI Bureau: Salman Khan-Katrina Kaif starrer ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ has been reportedly banned in Pakistan, although officially it has not been confirmed. The Pakistan Censor Board has reportedly issued the ban on this Kabir Khan directed Yash Raj film thanks to its plot that involves ‘The Research & Analysis Wing’ (RAW) agent.
In a reply to a fan’s query, director Kabir Khan confirmed the news on Twitter: “True… @BeingTeJan: #EkThaTiger gets banned in Pakistan. It was abt peace & friendship between Indo-Pak.”
However, the censor board of Pakistan has yet to come out with an official statement on it. The print of the film was sent to the board by the commerce ministry for review and a decision on whether it can be shown in Pakistan.
It is worth mentioning that many India-made films are appreciated in Pakistan and people do enquire about coming of the film. A fan from Pakistan asked the director to confirm the news and tweeted: “Pak censor said No @o_chandio: please confirm us is E.T.T releasing In Pakistan…sir Bahut pareshaan hoon.”
Even earlier the Saif Ali starrer Bollywood movie ‘Agent Vinod’ was banned in Pakistan on the grounds that it portrayed the powerful ISI in an unflattering light.
