Mohammad Ashraful suspended for Match-Fixing

In a shocking development, that even stunned the cricket lovers across the world, former Bangladesh skipper Mohammad Ashraful has been suspended for his alleged involvement in match-fixing.

Ashraful reportedly did the match-fixing during Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). This is yet another example how the T20 cricket has been converted into a money-minting machine by some vested interests.

After the arrest of Sreesanth and two other cricketers Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan in IPL spot-fixing, questions were raised over the continuance of T20 cricket. The latest development has given yet another chance to the critics of this format of the game.

According to reports, Ashraful has already confessed to his involvement in match-fixing while being questioned by the ACSU team. He reportedly took 1 million taka (USD 12,800) to lose the match against Barisal Burners. He was playing for Dhaka Gladiators. However, the cheque he received, was bounced and the matter came to light.
