Indo-Pak Hockey Series Called Off
The increasing tension between India and Pakistan has a new casualty. The Indo-Pak Hockey series, which was supposed to begin in April, was called off. The Ministry of External Affairs refused to give the green signal to the series after the terror attack in Srinagar.
The Pakistan team was scheduled to play a five-test match series in India, followed by a return visit by India. However, the terror attack in Srinagar, which left five CRPF jawans dead, has changed the situation.
Ironically, the Sports Ministry and Home Ministry had reportedy given the permission for the bilateral Hockey series, but the MEA showed the red flag. Earlier, the bilateral snooker series between India and Pakistan was also cancelled.
