1) As expected, Goa Governor BV Wanchoo resigned from his post after the CBI questioned him as a witness in connection with alleged irregularities in the purchase of 12 helicopters meant for VVIP use from AgustaWestland.
2) The special CBI court in Mumbai exempted BJP leader Amit Shah from appearance in connection with the alleged fake encounter cases of Tulsiram Prajapati and Sohrabuddin Sheikh.
3) CNN-IBN Editor-in-Chief Rajdeep Sardesai resigned from his post this afternoon. Earlier yesterday, Deputy Editor Sagarika Ghose had resigned from her post. The resignations came after Reliance acquired Network 18 for a whopping Rs 4,000 crore. While Sagarika Ghose will join India Today, Sardesai will work on a book on the 2014 general elections.
4) Leander Paes and Radek Stepanek of Czech Republic entered the semifinals in men’s doubles at Wimbledon 2014. third seeds Daniel Nestor of Canada and Nenad Zimonjic of Serbia in a quarterfinal match. They won 3-6, 7-6, 6-3, 6-4.
