India celebrates Vishwanathan Anand’s World Chess Title

TNI Bureau: A proud country celebrated Vishwanathan Anand’s fifth World Chess Championship Title after he defeated Boris Gelfand (Israel) in a tie-break to seal the victory.

After the regular games ended in 6-6, the duo played a four-game rapid tie-break. The first game ended in a draw, while Anand scored a crucial victory in the second game. The third and fourth games ended in draw, which helped Anand to clinch the title.

It was Anand’s fifth World Chess title and fourth in a row. Anand’s family members, Chess players and fans across the country have celebrated this win in a big way.
