India out of ‘Race to Finals’ in Azlan Shah Cup Hockey

Date:

TNI Bureau: After a 2-3 defeat against Argentina, India crashed out of the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup Hockey even though it has one match to play against Pakistan. India can’t enter the final even if they won against the arch-rivals.

India had lost to New Zealand in the first match. They won against South Korea and Malaysia, but lost to Great Britain. With today’s loss, they are out of the race to final.

For Argentina, Matias Paredes (37th), Santiago Montelli (38th) and Gonzalo Peillat (58th) scored the goals, while Sardar Singh (48th) and VR Raghunath (61st) scored the goals for India.

New Zealand and Argentina are all set to make it to the finals of Sultan Azlan Shah Cup Hockey unless some miracle happens.
