TNI Bureau: Another incident came as a shocker in Patiala when the entire country is outraged and demanding justice for Delhi gangrape victim. A rape victim committed suicide after being humiliated by police.
According to report, the girl was raped on Diwali by two men. When she went to police station to file a complaint, no action was taken by police. The rape victim committed suicide on Thursday and in her suicide note, she has stated how she was harassed by the police.

Her family claimed that no action has been taken against the accused by police on the basis of the complaint. It is also alleged that the police has asked the victim obscene questions when had lodged a complaint against the accused.
Taking a strong action after the death of the rape victim, the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Friday issued a notice to the Inspector General of Police, Patiala, PS Gill over the incident. He clarified that the SHO had delayed in registering the case and did not even inform the senior officers about the incident.
The Punjab government also dismissed the local SHO and two other policemen. The Chief Minister has formed a 3-member panel to probe the incident.
