Doctors force-feed Jagan Mohan Reddy
Even as YSR Congress chief Jagan Mohan Reddy was forcibly evicted from the fast venue in Hyderabad and force-fed by the doctors at NIIMs, the former refused to accept any kind of treatment, saying he would continue with his fast until the decision to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh is reversed.
Jagan, who has been on an indefinite fast since October 5, was taken into preventive custody late last night. As his health condition deteriorated, the Andhra Pradesh launched a massive crackdown on him to prevent any untoward incident.
A team of policemen barged into Jagan’s house at around 11pm, after demolishing the barricades set up by his supporters. He was put in an ambulance and taken stright to the Nizam Institute for Medical Sciences (NIMS) Hospital.
The decision was taken at the doctors’ advice and there was no resistance from Jagan’s supporters, as they believed it was the need of the hour. Jagan has vouched for a United Andhra Pradesh and sought a solution to the Telangana crisis through a meaningful dialogue.
