CSK CEO Meiyappan lands in Fixing Trouble
The IPL match fixing controversy is getting murkier with the Mumbai police arriving in Chennai to conduct further investigation in the case.
A team of officials from the Crime Branch of the Mumbai police has reportedly arrived in Chennai to question Chennai Super Kings CEO Gurunath Meiyappan in connection with telephonic interaction with Vindoo Dara Singh who has been arrested in connection with the match fixing racket in the ongoing IPL.
Mr. Meiyappan is the son-in-law of CSK owner and president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) N. Srinivasan.
During interrogation Vindoo has reportedly confessed that he had back to back interaction with Chennai Super Kings owner Gurunath Meiyappan and Ramesh Vyas, a bookie who has been arrested by the Mumbai police.
Television reports also claimed that police sources said that Vindoo Dara Singh had placed bets on behalf of Meiyappan and that the arrested actor was in “frequent touch” with him.
