Serial Blasts rock Patna ahead of Modi’s Rally
Serial bomb blasts took place inside a toilet at Platform No. 10 at the Patna Railway Station and Gandhi Maidan this morning ahead of Narendra Modi’s much-hyped ‘Hunkar Rally’, triggering panic across Bihar. However, that did not deter lakhs of people thronging to Gandhi Maidan, where Modi is scheduled to address the massive crowd. At least eight blasts took place in Patna. Four blasts took place near Gandhi Maidan.
At least five people died, while 50 others got injured in the serial blasts. Initially, it was said that a crude bomb blast occurred. Later, it was reported that a timer was used. The police have not revealed about the nature of the blast yet. The NIA team will soon reach Patna to conduct investigation.
Two other live bombs were reportedly defused by the bomb disposal squad. High alert has been issued across Patna and other parts of Bihar. One person was taken into custody in connection with the blasts.
