BJP sounds Poll Bugle, Ready for Snap Polls
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has lashed out at the Congress-led UPA Government and said it is ready for snap polls if the government plans for it. BJP General Secretary Ananth Kumar, who addressed the media, said that Congress is insecure of allies’ support and went for the ordinance route on Food Security Bill.
“If the Congress wants early polls, we are ready for it. We will fight the elections on the issue of corruption and economic crisis during the UPA regime,” he said.
The BJP further alleged that the Congress is under pressure ahead of the assembly polls in five states. “They are shy of facing the Parliament. The BJP will force them for a debate on corruption and price rise in the Parliament,” said Ananth Kumar.
The BJP’s Parliamentary Board Meeting was attended by senior leaders such as LK Advani, Rajnath Singh, Narendra Modi, Ananth Kumar, Sushma Swaraj, Nitin Gadkari among others. BJP’s poll strategy for the assembly elections and 2014 general elections was reportedly discussed at the meeting.
