BCCI suspends Raj Kundra for Betting Links
In a big development today, the BCCI has finally cracked the whip and suspended Rajasthan Royals co-owner Raj Kundra from all cricket activities, pending probe. The decision was taken at the emergency meeting of the BCCI Working Committee chaired by Jagmohan Dalmiya.
Recently, the Delhi Police had grilled Raj Kundra for about 12 hours in connection with his betting links. Kundra reportedly admitted to losing around Rs 1 crore in IPL betting. According to Delhi Police, he even betted on his own team.
Since Kundra has a minor 7 per cent stake in Rajasthan Royals, he could be asked by the Board of Directors to sell that and stay clear of the IPL franchisee. Kundra and his wife Shilpa Shetty have been with Rajasthan Royals since its inception in 2008.
