Baba Ramdev backs Modi, warns BJP
Even if a “frustrated” Narendra Modi sought to rule himself out of the PM’s race and said he wants to serve Gujarat till 2017, yoga guru Baba Ramdev has come out in his support and said that he will reconsider about his support to BJP if Modi is not declared the PM’s candidate for 2014.
Baba Ramdev, a staunch supporter of Narendra Modi, said that majority of the people in the country want Narendra Modi at the helm. “Modi Lao, Desh Bachao” is the slogan today. Any attempt to prevent Modi from becoming the PM, would not go well with the people of this country, he said.
Meanwhile, the political atmosphere in Delhi has heated up following Modi’s statement yesterday. While the Congress and many other political parties do not want to see Modi on the top, a section of BJP leaders, led by LK Advani and Sushma Swaraj are also found queering his pitch.
Even Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan has told the RSS and BJP President Rajnath Singh that it would be tough for him to gain majority in the upcoming assembly polls if Modi is projected as the PM now.
