The self-styled godman, Asaram Bapu has cleared the ‘potency test’, which means he is capable of sexual assault. The Jodhpur Police, which conducted the test, confirmed this, making things difficult for the spiritual guru, whose one-day police custody ended today. He was later sent to 14-day judicial custody by the court.
Asaram will be lodged in Jodhpur Central Jail, where he will be treated as an ordinary prisoner without access to any of the facilities he availed in police custody. The doctors have already confirmed that he is mentally and physically stable to stay in jail. The Jodhpur Police confirmed that they did not sought extension of Asaram’s custody, as their investigation was complete.

Earlier, the ‘potency test’ confirmed that the 72-year-old Asaram’s libido is active. The rest was necessitated after Asaram reportedly told the cops that he was impotent and could not commit the crime he was charged with. The police claimed that they have gathered enough evidence in the last 10 days to nail Asaram. They termed the allegations made by the minor girl correct.
It is not immediately known whether Asaram will be tried for rape or sexual assault, as conflicting reports were made in the media in the last few days. While a section of media claimed that the minor girl was raped by Asaram, while some others said that there was molestation and attempt to rape the victim.
