Pakistan retracts, offers Truce
TNI Bureau: Under pressure from several fronts, including the political turmoil at home, Pakistan has finally decided to shed aggression and respect the ceasefire. Its troops have been instructed to exercise restraint and not violate the ceasefire agreement at the LoC.
Pakistan’s respose came after the Indian Army provided strong evidence of anti-personnel landmines used by the Pak Army at the LoC to facilitate infiltration.
Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar, who accused India of “war mongering” following the strong response from Indian Army Chief General Bikram Singh, has also expressed readiness to hold dialogue with India to resolve the crisis.
