Stubborn Srinivasan rules out Resignation
N Srinivasan, the man, who ruled the world cricket and ruined the Indian cricket is still showing great resistance to save his chair even though his son-in-law and CSK CEO Gurunath Meiyappan was arrested by the Mumbai Crime Branch in connection with betting and spot-fixing allegations.
Srinivasan admitted that there is a mounting pressure on him to resign. But, he bowed not to succumb before any pressure and claimed innocence. “The law will take its own course in case of Meiyappan,” he said.
The BCCI is completely divided on Srinivasan. Many members of the Board want him to go. A section is trying to dethrone Srinivasan and install Arun Jaitley as the BCCI President.
If Arun Jaitley shows reluctance, DV Subba Rao from Andhra Pradesh Cricket Association may take over. Even former BCCI President Sharad Pawar, who enjoys wide support within the BCCI, has spoken against Srinivasan.
